Why Do Cats Scratch?
Scratching is instinctive — cats do it to mark territory, stretch muscles, and maintain claws. The solution is redirection, not punishment.
1. Right Scratching Surface
Most cats love corrugated cardboard scratchers (like our Accordion Cat Scratcher Board). They’re affordable and cats love the texture.
2. Strategic Placement
Put scratchers near furniture your cat targets and near windows where cats stretch after naps.
3. Positive Reinforcement
Reward your cat with treats when they use the scratcher, and keep them entertained with our Interactive Cat Toy Ball for active play sessions. Add catnip to attract them.
4. Protect Furniture
Use double-sided tape on targeted areas. Cats dislike sticky textures.
5. Trim Nails
Regular nail trimming every 2-3 weeks minimizes damage.
