A Simple At-Home Skin Check for Your Cat
Ringworm is one of the most common — and most contagious — skin problems in cats, and it often starts invisibly. Under a 365nm Wood’s lamp, many Microsporum canis infections fluoresce a bright apple-green, so a dark room and 30 seconds are all you need for a first check between vet visits.
Please note: a Wood’s lamp is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. Not every strain fluoresces, and other substances can glow too. If you see suspicious glowing patches, or symptoms persist, see your veterinarian for a fungal culture.
Why the Black-Filter Lens Matters
Cheap UV torches leak visible purple light that washes out the glow you’re looking for. The S9’s black-filter (black mirror) lens blocks that spill and passes a clean 365nm beam, so fluorescent patches stand out sharply against fur and skin.

More Than a Cat Health Tool
The same beam finds dried pet urine on carpets and bedding, fluorescent brighteners in fabrics, counterfeit banknotes and fake IDs, and glowing scorpions and minerals outdoors.
